A couple days ago I wondered WHAT IF the spilling oil from the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico would hit the Gulf Stream.
In this blog I will follow the oil on its way towards Europe in case it uses the Gulf Stream to spread along the east coast of the USA.

Any input from people with some knowledge in Gulf Stream current, movements and anything regarding the impact will or might have, is highly appreciated.
I try to be as exact as possible but the internet can get you only so far.

A forum is created for communication and information exchange.

I really hope this will be a short blog and will fail to meet it´s directive.

Oh, and please bear with me, English is just something I picked up while visiting the USA and enjoying some wonderful people and the great places. So some things might be a bit on the bumpy side word wise.

Time Line: Tracking the Oil

When the oil reaches the Gulf Stream a tracking will start here

Florida fears deepen as oil enters the Loop Current
Oil enters Loop Current, headed for The Bahamas
FOX removes video: Oil Entering Gulf Loop Current
Heavy oil seen from chopper for first time across fragile Louisiana wetlands

A Loop Current Eddy forms and keeps the oil in the gulf for now.
